It’s time for my Visible Image Design Team post and I’m channelling autumn vibes on today’s grungy card.   There’s lots of masking and stamping on today’s card to give perspective whilst creating a totally flat card.   You can use masking paper but I use sticky notes as they’re nice and thin so are easy fussy cut.   I stamped and clear heat-embossed all the images to resist the metallic sprays added at the end. When stamping and masking, it’s important to think about what you want to sit in front of, or behind, other elements and start with the foreground, where I stamped the flowers.   I used the small daisies from Daisy Grunge but the small flower from Sunflower Grunge would also work well.   After masking the daisies, I stamped the large pumpkin from Happy Halloween, masking the face when inking the stamp. Our DT theme this week is Autumn Harvest & Thanksgiving and my brief was for a ‘Clean & Simple’ make.   After looking through my stash for what to use, I realised that I’d not yet used the TotallyToadstools stamps and dies which was handy as they fit the theme perfectly. To begin, I stamped the toadstool and large grass tussock using Versafine Onyx Black ink and added some colour using watercolour paints, as they were out on my desk! After using the co-ordinating dies to cut them out, I added Xmas Red Stickles to the toadstool cap and set aside to dry. For the background, I cut a 5¼” square of white card and stamped the various grasses and mushrooms along the bottom in black ink. Next, I blended Pumice Stone Distress Ink through The Forest stencil in patches around the panel. My projects this week are the card and ATC I made for the Visible Image October ATC swap which had “Autumn Vibes” for the theme.   On the day I made these, it was blowing a hoolie and multi-coloured leaves were swirling all over the place, which inspired my makes. Using the Autumn Leaves stencil, a variety of Distress Ink pads and small blending brushes, I layered the leaves to cover the ATC. To give a little shadow to create dimension, I painted on watered down Gathered Twigs Distress Ink around the edges of the leaves and also painted on some leaf veins.   For some sparkle, I spattered on gold watercolour paint and edged the ATC with it too.
