Time To Par-tee!

Image
When I saw the Breaking Glass stencil, it immediately occurred to me to pair it with the Time To Par-tee stamps, with a golf ball breaking the glass.   I’m no golfer but I am partial to a round of crazy golf! I started by making a background using Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Broken China Distress Spray Stains. Once the background was dry, I stamped the golfer and the flag on it.   On a separate piece of card, I stamped and clear heat-embossed the large golf ball and the words. My tip when using stencils with very fine details is to apply a temporary adhesive to the back of them first.   This will stop the stencil lifting from the card and letting the paste seep under.   I use Crafter’s Companion Stick and Spray and let it dry for a couple of minutes before using the stencil.   I then used a translucent stencil paste and removed the stencil.  Don't forget to wash the stencil immediately in hot, soapy water! I added white iridescent glitter, tapped off the exces

Hello and welcome to my first Visible Image DT post for 2024.   My cards this week are a variation on a theme using the  Glitch Numbers stencil as the main image.   I’ve experimented with different media to make 4 cards that are essentially the same but different! To begin, I ink blended some backgrounds using Distress Oxides.   If you want an even quicker make, you could use some patterned paper instead but I love ink blending so that’s where I started.   Making backgrounds like this makes this card very versatile and suitable for men or women. Next, I took one of the backgrounds and simply blended Memento Tuxedo black all over.   My panels were 5¼” square so the stencil overhung the edges so I could secure it with tape. For the rest of the backgrounds, I heat embossed and also used Ranger Distress Paste in Snowfall together with glitter and embossing powder – full details of each card later. The sentiment is one of my all-time favourites and is from Blow Out The Candles

Merry Rex-mas!

Well, it’s Christmas Eve already!   Are you having a relaxing time or running around doing last minute jobs?   We’re working Christmas morning so we have no meal prep to do as we will go to my sister and brother-in-law’s house after work for dinner with my family.   I do have to drop off the turkey though.   My card this week is one I made for our friends.   We had a weekend away with them last month and Rowan (aged 2½”) is very much into dinosaurs and announced that ‘tri’ means 3, which he’d learned from a kid’s TV programme.   He loves the triceratops so, when I saw this Pretty Pink Posh Christmas Dinosaurs stamp set, it was a no-brainer for their card. For the background, I blended some Distress Oxide Salty Ocean ink over a sticky note mask then used Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Paste in Snowfall through Newton’s Nook Snowfall stencil, added white glitter and left to dry. The dinosaurs were stamped and coloured using Copic markers.   Unfortunately, the dies were out of stock
