Welcome to my first DT post using the lovely new Hopes and Dreams Collection.   I’m mainly using the Catch A Star stamp set but with a little help from Inner Glow .   I planned to use the emboss-resist technique so I used Distress Spray Stains in primary colours for the background. Using my MISTI, I stamped the children and star outlines using Versamark ink, added clear embossing powder and heat set. To fill in the stars, I used the solid star stamps from Inner Glow and repeated the clear heat-embossing. Next, after positioning a torn paper mask across the bottom, I blended Memento Tuxedo Black all over the panel.   The embossing resists the ink but I did gently wipe over the embossed areas with a damp tissue to remove any excess ink and brighten the images. This is not just another Design Team post!   It’s my first using Visible Image’s brand-new Grunge Florals Collection.   This is another awesome release comprising six stamps sets and three stencils – I hope you’ve seen the gorgeous samples made by Mark and the DT - and you can see and shop the whole range here .   To begin, I used the Rotation stencil as a stamp to colour the background for the large rose stamp.   I sprayed Distress Spray Stains in Picked Raspberry and Dusty Concord onto the stencil… …and then pressed it onto the card.   To absorb any overspray, I placed some tissue over the stencil whilst I pressed it onto the card. After drying the printing thoroughly, I stamped and clear heat embossed the rose from Rose Moments .   I used my MISTI for this so that I could repeat stamp as necessary as this is a big stamp. I used a nesting set of octagonal dies to cut out the rose plus black and silver foil layers and glued them together.   (...

It’s new release time again so I’m back with another of my samples made using the amazing new  Time To Fly collection.   This time I’m only using the Spread Your Wings stamp set but here is the whole glorious collection! (It's on a time-limited bargain deal at the moment that you can find  here .) To begin, I cut a 5¼” square of white card and arranged the stamps in my MISTI so that I could repeat stamp them, partly to get a really dark, crisp image and partly for the technique I was going to use. Next, I cut up an inky panel made using Distress Spray Stains and Spritzes into three random sized windows and positioned them over the stamped panel, using a tiny dot of glue to hold them in place. The stamps were inked up again and stamped onto the coloured windows. As I’d only used a tiny dot of glue, each of the rectangles could be easily removed and glued onto black card.   Before doing so though, I used a black marker to colour the white edges for a neater f...

Hello and welcome to my first DT post, a sneaky peak using the gorgeous new Time To Fly collection from Visible Image - which will be out later today!    It’s a very striking release of stamps and stencils with sentiments in fabulous fonts and styles.   All the stamp sets and stencils work so well together; it was such fun creating the samples! To create the background for my 5” x 7” card, I used Distress Spray Stains to create a sunset sky and then added a little stencilling using Fingerprints and Dusty Concord Distress Ink. For some distant bushes, I stamped the branches from Soar using Versafine Clair Morning Mist ink across the bottom of the panel, adding the small bird from this set and the one from Spread Your Wings. Next, I stamped the large bird image using Versafine Onyx Black, adding a little gold embossing powder just along the edges of the head, wings and tail and heat-set. I had planned on doing the same with the sentiment but it didn’t really pop so...

Our DT theme this week celebrates the new Tomorrow’s Memories release and for my CAS make, I’m taking advantage of the beautiful Tomorrow's Memories  paper pad and a few of the other new goodies.   Have you had a chance to check them out yet? To begin, I stamped and clear heat-embossed the butterfly clock from Counting Moments  on a piece of orange paper.   I love how Mark's done all the hard work creating an interesting background for you – perfect for a quick make! After trimming the panel to 4¾” square, I used the number column stamp to add some interest around the edges, again heat-embossing with clear powder. The sentiment is from Present Times  and, after a liberal dusting with an anti-static tool, I stamped with Versamark and heat set with white embossing powder.   To add a bit of interest to the card blank, I tore a strip of Destination Anywhere PET tape  in half and adhered one of the strips to the front edge.   I’d made the front...
