Blooming Wonderful
Welcome to my fortnightly DT post and this week I’ve got some bright, summery florals, made using the Birthday in Bloom stamp set. I love all the different flowers that pop up in the garden in summer and as I write this, I’m looking out on wild foxgloves, peonies and roses in my garden. These stamps reminded me of zinnias, of which I have many trays growing on in the greenhouse. To begin, I stamped the larger vase off centre as I wanted one of the flowers to be disappearing off the page. I then stamped the flowers, bending the stems to fit my design, and added the sentiment. Next, I used my Altenew brush tip markers to colour the flowers. They’re not blendable like alcohol markers but I started with the darker colour at the base of the petals and coloured over with the lighter one for some simple colour variation.
