Welcome to my first Visible Image DT post of 2026.   Our theme for the next two weeks is Uplifting, encompassing positive quotes, hopes, dreams and inspiration.   For my card this week, I’ve paired a golden oldie, Where Dreams TakeYou , with a stamp set from a recent release, Change Direction . After cutting a piece of white card to 5¼” square, I stamped the eye using Versafine Onyx Black and clear heat set.   To preserve the white of the eye and the highlight, I used a Versamark pen and scribbled over the white areas, added clear embossing powder and heat set.   I then repeated this as I didn’t want any spray stain to seep through, giving the eye a bloodshot look! Next, the sentiment was white heat embossed under the eye.   Do you ever feel intimidated by the blank sheet in front of you?  Apparently, it’s quite a common to sit down with a white sheet of card in front of you and for your mind to go blank. I purchased a gel press plate to make backgrounds in the hope that they would provide some inspiration that would spark an idea. These cards were for ladies in the Lavinia Birthdays group so they feature Lavinia Stamps.  I began with these two panels to create two cards.  I wanted them each to have a moon and I hadn’t left space in the printing so had to create one. For the purple panel, I brushed on white pigment ink through a circular stencil, adding a little silver and some white gel pen. Using a landscape stencil, I added some distant hills and near ground and also blended some ink to darken the sky and make the moon more prominent. This idea came to me one evening as I was gazing out of my craft room window at the sunset.   It was a beautiful sunset, with very rich pink, orange and yellow colours but only a strip of it was showing.   It was obscured at each side by huge cloud banks which framed the sunset.   It was stunning! As the colours intensified, the trees in the foreground became silhouetted which made the whole scene look even more spectacular.   As such, I was inspired to create this card.   As you’ve no doubt gathered, I’m a bit in love with the Dandelion Wishes stamp which works really well for this card, but any stamp which has a good silhouette image will do the business too - have fun trying out different images!   I find that a black mat layer or just a black card base (if you’re not matting it) frames this card the best.   If you’d like to watch my YouTube video tutorial for this card, please follow this link .
