Forest Nights

My cards for my Visible Image DT inspiration this week feature the Into The Woods stamp set, with the sentiment from Birthday Greetings.   This is a great set of silhouettes that can be used individually or layered up, as I have done. For my background, I picked Villainous Potion, Seedless Preserves and Weathered Wood.   I started ink-blending Weathered Wood but my pad needs re-inking and it was taking too long, so I smeared the pad across the bottom of each panel.   I figured it could be a distant hillside! I spritzed them with a little water and added some bigger splats, then left to dry. When I have a large stamp like these, I like to use my MISTI stamp positioner so that I can do multiple stamps and get a good impression.   I used Versafine Clair Morning Mist, a grey ink, for the distant trees. For the foreground trees, I used Versafine Clair Nocturn. Lastly, I stamped the single tree, then added Wow! Superfine Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. ...

Wildflowers

At the end of January, I travelled up to Stockport to visit Practical Publishing HQ for an experience day, part of the prize from Cardmaker of The Year 2022.   I got to meet 2 of my fellow winners, Tracey and Monika (sadly, Ann-Marie couldn’t make it) and we were hosted by Nicky Gilburt, editor of Creative Stamping, and Lou Collins, of Text{ures} and craft TV fame.   We met the editors of the various magazines, saw how the magazines come together and had a visit to the photography department and the studio.  Lou kindly gave us her Wildflowers Bundle and we got to do some quick crafting together.   It was such a fabulous day and we all had a great time.   You can read all about it here .
