Cheaper Than Therapy!
This card was one I made for my friend’s birthday. My friend is a HUGE chocolate fan so when I saw this quote somewhere, it seemed a perfect fit for a card for her. I remembered I had the Stampin’ Up! Nothing’s Better Than which had a die to cut out the word ‘chocolate’ which would pair nicely with a newly purchased Colorado Craft Company So Sweet stamp set.
To begin, I stamped the chocolate wielding mice and coloured them with Copics before cutting them out with the matching dies.
I blended a couple of shades of brown and die cut the ‘chocolate’ together with one from dark brown card, which I offset to create a shadow effect. I use the Waffle Flower Lacy Layers dies to create a top panel and then worked out the arrangement of the various elements.
I wanted the central mouse to be sat on the word so glued him on first then added the word. It was a bit busy on the front with all 4 mice that I’d coloured, so I used 3 and added a yellow ribbon accent instead. (I used the remaining mouse on the inside panel.)
Finally, the other 2 mice were glued in place and then a light brown mat added before mounting on a side-folding dark brown card base.
