More Magnolias

Following on from my magnolia cards last month, my card this week uses the TEXT{ures} Magnolia Half Tone stamp set and dies by Lou Collins.  This technique requires a stamping platform so that the image can be restamped in the same place.

I started with the leaves by adding ink to the stamp with sponge daubers, spritzing with water and stamping onto the card.  This was repeated several times until I had the coverage I wanted.

The same process was done with pink inks for the flowers.

A little yellow ink was added for the flower centre and I then spritzed a little more water to blend the colours a little more.

After cutting out the flowers using the outline die, I used the other die and an embossing mat with my die-cutting machine to add texture to the image.

The card was brought together using a slim embossed panel on a 5” x 7” card base with the floral panel attached using foam tape.  The card was finished with a birthday sentiment and some gems.
