A Latte Love

My cards this week are made using Tonic Studios Craft Kit 71 – Marshmallow Hugs.  It’s a wintery themed kit which I thought quite fitting as the weather has turned quite cool this week.

To begin, I did a lot of die cutting using the dies and card in the kit.  I wasn’t sure exactly what I was going to make so cut everything so I could play around with the bits and pieces.

The cups come with a couple of decorative die-cut panels, which I cut from contrasting card and adhered to the cups.  I also stamped and clear heat-embossed one of the sentiments in the kit and cut them out with a circle punch.

For the whipped cream tops to the drinks, I cut out the base and the frame and glued them together.  I then used a glue pen to add adhesive to the inside areas, added glitter and left to dry.

For the background, I die-cut a panel using Reverse Confetti Stitched Rays cover panel die and attached the cups on top using foam tape, 3 layers in the centre and one layer at each edge, to give some dimension.  A spool of grey ribbon is included in the kit so I made tiny bows and attached them to the spoons.

My last card was a get well card for my friend who’s recently had back surgery and was feeling a bit low.  When I first opened this Craft Kit, Mr L immediately though that the dies were to make a poo emoji(!) so that’s where the idea for this card came from.
