Serenity

Hello and welcome to my second DT post featuring the brand-new release.  This time, I’m using  Calm Over Chaos, a stunning stamp set that it’s difficult not to create beautiful cards with, together with Painted Grid stencil.

To begin, I stamped the lady with Versafine Onyx Black and added clear embossing powder and heat set.  Whilst the image was still heated, I applied more clear embossing powder and heat set again.  I repeated this several times until the image was well covered.

I stamped the lady again onto masking paper and fussy cut.  Next, I applied the mask and then taped the stencil in place and added some sticky notes to make the horizon and land and used Memento Tuxedo Black ink and a blending brush to create the land.  The sticky notes were then removed and black ink was stencilled around the outside of the panel, leaving the centre part white.

After removing the stencil, I replaced the sticky note along the horizon, but this time covering the sky, and lightly added a little colour to the sea.

For the setting sun, I replaced the sticky note for the horizon and used one of the circles from Bubbles & Fizz together with Lumberjack Plaid Distress Oxide.

To add some rays to the sun, I used one of the Art Spheres #2 and lightly added a little colour using the ink that was left on the brush.

Using the red ink that was left on the brush again, I added a little colour to the sea too.  I stamped and clear heat-embossed the sentiments.

Lastly, I stamped the branches in black and added Red Berry Nuvo Crystal Drops to the centres of the flowers and used a white Posca pen to add a few ripples to the sea.  The panel was mounted on a red square and then onto a black 5¾” square card base.
