Amazing Cats
Welcome to my latest Visible Image Design Team post. Last month was the 4th birthday of 2 of our 4 cats, a pair who were a foster-fail from when we fostered 5 kittens for my friend’s rescue charity during the pandemic. Scooby and his ‘brother’ Dill (who was actually from a different litter but all his siblings died) stole our hearts and a permanent place on our sofa. I made these cards to say thank you to a couple of friends that have helped me out during a tough time in recent weeks.
For quick backgrounds, I blended various Distress Inks onto 4” squares of card and spritzed them with water to blend the colours and lift off some spots.
Using the Curious Cats stamp, I stamped the large cat’s face and whiskers onto each panel using Versafine Claire Nocturne ink.
To make the eyes really pop, I coloured them using metallic and glitter markers. Once they had dried, I used a white Posca marker for the highlights. The noses were coloured using alcohol markers.
The sentiment and hearts are from the One Kind Word stamp set. I mounted each panel on a foil square to compliment the sparkly eyes and then onto black 5” square card bases.
