Mr Frostie

Mr Frostie is one of the sets in the latest release from Stampers Annonymous by Tim Holtz.  I love both of the snowmen and with their sketchy style, they’re really easy to colour too.

To begin, I cut two panels and stamped each of the snowmen onto them using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

To colour them, I dug out my Zig brush water colour pens and blended the ink out with a paintbrush and some clean water.  This was some super-quick colouring!

For the background, I blended Weathered Wood Distress Oxide onto one and Iced Spruce Distress Ink onto the other, spritzing each lightly.  In future, I think I’d do this step first so as not to risk the watercolour running.  Using 2nd generation stamping and Versafine Clair Morning Mist, I stamped the snowflakes around the background too.

For the first card, I simply stamped the sentiment in black and added some clear Stickles onto the scarf, hat and nose and some clear Nuvo drops onto the eyes and buttons.

For the second card, I used the new Letter Board dies and embossing folder combo and cut the sentiment from white glitter card.  The scarf and hat band were finished with red Stickles and clear Nuvo drops added to the eyes.
